BILLY CHILDS ALL-STAR QUARTET

Billy Childs is a fantastic jazz pianist and a three time Grammy winning composer as well. At a young age he played with Freddie Hubbard and J.J. Johnson. Later on he wrote music for the L.A. Philharmonic and Kronos Quartet among others, and performed with Yo-Yo Ma, Sting and Wynton Marsalis. ‘It’s impossible to tell where the jazz ends and the classical music begins’, the Wall Street Journal wrote about his compositions. Besides original compositions his repertoire contains standards by Horace Silver, Cedar Walton and Thelonious Monk.
