As if they have been written yesterday; this is how the standards from bop and jazz appear in the hands of Bill Charlap. Every note counts with this American pianist, who’s known for his vital, elegant style. Bill Charlap grew up in New York as the son of singer Sandy Stewart and Broadway composer Moose Charlap. He made name accompanying famous singers such as Tony Bennett and Sheila Jordan and he has played with among others Phil Woods and Gerry Mulligan.
