25 years of Bik Bent Braam as we know it, will be performing it swansong tonight. Pianist/composer Michiel Braam demonstrates once more why his ensemble has garnered such acclaim all over the world. His music is tailor-made for the musicians, who are offered complete freedom. This never results in chaos, thanks to the ensemble playing universally described as ‘magical’. The first set of this concert contains pieces without an ending. After the break the musicians will invent the conclusion of the compositions themselves. The fact that Braam has left out 25% of the notes, specifically C, E and G, is merely an incidental aside to the recent government cuts on culture.
