He graduated cum laude as a classical pianist, which explains why Bert van den Brink possesses such a perfect, complete technique, that he uses to cover the whole spectrum of modern jazz. He accompanied various great soloists like Chet Baker, Nat Adderly and Lee Konitz. ‘My feelings on hearing him perform solo were so strong that I found myself with tears rolling down my cheeks over a smile on my face’, said colleague Clare Fisher.
