BERT JORIS/DADO MORONI QUARTET
Bert Joris-trumpet, Dado Moroni-piano, Ira Coleman-bass, Dre Pallemaerts-drums
Bert Joris (Antwerp, 1947) belongs to the prominent European trumpet players. His vision on bebop and cool jazz is as nostalgic as it is up to date. All About Jazz called his last album, Dangerous Liasons, best big band album of 2006. In his own quartet Joris has been working for some time with Italian pianist Dado Moroni (Genua, 1962). Bassist Ira Coleman made a big impression this year with the group of Dee Dee Bridgewater at the North Sea Jazz Festival. Tonight, repertoire of the new album Magone will be performed.
