BERNLEF, BRAAM & JANSSEN

Bernlef published his miscellaneous jazz writings in a volume called ‘How to fall from the stairs’ (Published by Querido). On this evening he will recite some of his hilarious and melancholic stories. He will also perform the text ‘Storing’ (disturbance/defect) together with pianist/composer Guus Janssen, about a stutterer getting in trouble with a pianist, to be found on a CD in the back of the book. Bernlef: ‘Sometimes I dream that I am a jazz pianist. but when I wake up I am happy to know that Janssen and Braam took over this job from me’.
