The feeling of hanging in mid-air: that’s what Bernard van Rossum would like to evoke with his new album Trampoline. After a rock n roll adolescence playing the drums, the saxophone player and composer revisits the rhythmical dimension for inspiration. Challenging rhythms become flowing and complexity is balanced with simplicity to create both deep and playful music. The warm sound of Spain is always near, Van Rossum was born and raised there with his English mother and Dutch father.
