A solo concert by the Australian producer/guitarist Ben Frost is an overpowering experience. With electric guitar and electronics he builds a majestic, apocalyptic wall of sound. As a composer he connects minimal music with the confrontational sounds of noise, punk and metal. Ben Frost has written for various orchestrations, among others for the string players of the Kronos Quartet, with whom he will open the World Minimal Music Festival this week. ‘A sharp-edged, Hi-Def encounter with the dangerously sublime’ (The Wire).
