Steve Reid Ensemble treedt op zonder Kieran Hebden (Four Tet) Het management van het Steve Reid Ensemble heeft laten weten dat het ensemble op 27 september a.s. optreedt zonder Kieran Hebden. Door onvoorziene uitloop van opnamen van een nieuwe soundtrack moet hij verstek laten gaan. Het concert van het Steve Reid Ensemble gaat gewoon door met de volgende bezetting: Steve Reid-drums, vocals Dominic Lash-bas Mamadou Sarr-drums, percussie Joe Rigby-sax, fluit Boris Netsvetaev-keyboards, elektronica Er wordt voornamelijk materiaal gespeeld van het goed ontvangen laatste album van Steve Reid, ‘Daxar’. The infinite dimensions of the cosmos have inspired volumes of music, from Sun Ra’s Space is the Place to the extraterrestial explorations of Pink Floyd and the psychedelic funk of George Clinton’s Mothership Connection. The fourth edition of the B-Oost festival will be a musical journey through space. For starters, hyperactive hip-hop remixers Truly Pheasant deconstruct and reconstructs live on stage the jazz of Ernst Glerum’s Onmibus. This show is followed up with the ecstatic jams of sound artist Four Tet and jazz veteran Steve Reid. Reid, a drummer from New York, debuted in the early 1960s with Martha The Vandellas. Later, he played with Miles Davis, Fela Kuti and Sun Ra. Kieran Hebden, aka Four Tet, has made a name for himself in the world of electronics and sampling.
