AZIZA – HOLLAND / POTTER / LOUEKE / HARLAND
Friday18 November 2016

Absolute maestros from the highest regions of jazz join forces in Aziza. These star players have celebrated success with, among others, Miles Davis and Herbie Hancock.

For many this line-up alone will be mouthwatering: saxophonist Chris Potter, double bassist and Grammy winner Dave Holland, guitarist Lionel Loueke and drummer Eric Harland. Last year they performed two nights in a row at the Bimhuis under their own names. Now they have formed a permanent band named Aziza.

Dave Holland made his breakthrough in Miles Davis’ band and is one of the 10 most important living jazz masters of today according to Downbeat Magazine. Chris Potter made name in the Dave Holland Quintet and is a role model for young jazz saxophonists all over the world. Guitarist and ‘Blue Note recording artist’ Lionel Loueke played with Herbie Hancock. Drummer Eric Harland is currently part of Charles Lloyd’s Sangam and the all-star band Prism led by Dave Holland.
