Portuguese singer/composer António Zambujo has gathered an international
following. He sings fado and ’Canto Alentejano’, the music from his
birth ground. So far he has released six albums, on which he keeps
searching for innovation. In the instrumentation, for example, with tuba
and clarinet, or in crossovers with other musical genres such as French
chanson and bossa nova. Recently he received the award for best male
fado singer by the Amália Rodrigues Foundation, which was named after
the most influential fado artist in history.
