Saxophone/clarinet virtuoso and all round genius Anthony Braxton is an icon in the free jazz movement. He was part of Chick Corea’s free jazz quartet Circle in the early 70’s and led his own bands with (among others) Dave Holland, Barry Altschul and George Lewis. It is almost impossible to overestimate his influence on generations of creative musicians. ‘To enter Anthony Braxton’s music is to enter a vast and ever-expanding universe’ (All About Jazz).
