Anyone wanting to get an idea of the future of jazz should experience saxophone player Andrew D’Angelo’s big band. Aside from other successful bands as Human Feel he leads orchestras with eccentric players (that include a.o. Bill McHenry, Ben Monder en Trevor Dunn) who hammer away at ‘Big Butt’, ‘Free Willy’, ‘Gay Disco’ and other tunes. The music is loud, pleasantly chaotic and irresistibly melodic.
