The ultimate electric guitar festival in The Netherlands presents its closing show starring American guitar icon Larry Carlton and band. Support act is the duo of Anton Goudsmit and Reinier Baas.

The ultimate electric guitar festival in The Netherlands celebrates the start of the summer with an exciting program. The concert of Larry Carlton is the grand finale of a weekend for young talents, guitar icons and everyone else who plays electric guitar. The weekend is connected by ten guitar duos, for example the support act for Larry Carlton, the duo of Anton Goudsmit en Reinier Baas. These two scene leaders in Dutch jazz and improvised music are known from their bands, The Ploctones and The More Socially Relevant Jazz Music Ensemble respectively.

Guitar icon Larry Carlton is known in jazz as well as rock for his characteristic, often imitated sweet sound on the Gibson ES-335. He made his breakthrough as a band member of The Crusaders and as a session players on legendary albums by Joni Mitchell, Donald Fagen, Steely Dan and many others. Aside from that the American guitarist has released a string of successful albums under his own name.

The Bimhuis restaurant
is open prior to the concert from 6 til 8.30PM (reservations via
020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free
entrance).

At 1:30 PM there is also an afternoon programme of the Amsterdam Electric Guitar Heaven with performances by Dany Lademacher ’s Wild Romance , Plug ‘n’ Play Creation Orchestra and the finals of the Sena Young Talent Guitar Awards.
