Her appearance in the American JazzWeek Top 10 is evidence for the broad international recognition for Amina Figarova. The Azerbaijani was trained as a concert pianist, only to be swept up into jazz at the Rotterdam conservatory. From then on she gained experience as a band leader. Tonight Figarova will present her new CD, Above the Clouds.
