Especially when she plays the Hammond organ and when she sings, the unique Amina Claudine reveals her gospel roots. She played with the great saxophonists Gene Ammons and Sonny Stitt and in hometown Chicago with AACM-musici Lester Bowie and Muhal Richard Abrams. In the Bimhuis she could be heard before with her own trio, Joey Baron’s Down Home, James Blood Ulmer and Von Freeman.
