Famous and less well-known compositions by pianist and band leader Duke Ellington are revitalized by a contemporary orchestra full of improvising master musicians.
All Ellington is a concert series at Zaal 100 and The Bimhuis which breathes new life into famous and less well-known music of Duke Ellington. This time All Ellington concentrates on their contemporary translation of the saxophone section of Ellington’s orchestra. Don’t expect a faithful reproduction; just enjoy music inspired by the mentality that characterized Ellington and his ensemble.
The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.00 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
