Drummer Al Foster started his career in 1960 with Hugh Masekela. After this Foster worked with Miles Davis for a long period of time; their intuitive collaboration and personal friendship has been seen as the reason for Davis’ comeback. Foster shifts elegantly between bebop, freejazz and jazz rock in which power and poetry do not work against each other. Eddie Henderson is an influential trumpet player with a recognizable, spatial sound who’s influence on artists like Erik Truffaz is widely acknowledged.
