For what I wanted in a drummer, Al Foster had it all’, is what Miles Davis wrote in his autobiography. The great drummer who also worked with Thelonious Monk, Cannonball Adderly, Sonny Rollins and Herbie Hancock, is the embodiment of the groove; a great drive that lifts up the band and brings out the best in them, something that, no doubt, will happen with these gifted, young post boppers.
