TryTone, the Amsterdam based record label and platform for new jazz and improvisation, celebrates its 10th anniversary with a special edition of its annual festival. Agog kicks off the party. The trio creates intense and complex music with guitar, bass and drums, combining jazz, avant-garde, classical and non-Western music. Like Agog, the Celano/Baggiani Group will present its new CD tonight. Argentinean musicians Marcos Baggiani and Guillermo Celano have been living in Amsterdam for years. They’ve found perfect partners to perform their combination of jazz and Argentinean folk music in reeds player Michael Moore and bass player Sven Schuster. The music of the fifteen-man ensemble Tetzepi reflects city life with its succession of grooves, solos and collective improvisations. Tonight the Bimhuis cafe-restaurant will be serving a buffet menu instead of its usual a-la-carte menu (€ 15, from 18.30). Reservations recommended: 020-7882158.
