Ab Baars: ‘Saying something new about the trio, about a new project, a new repertoire? It is not a new project really. I think, actually, that every concert is a new project. A new repertoire? Same answer. Maybe I should mention that in January 2006 we have been playing together for 15 years and we only need a hint to know what we’re saying. And, according to me, there is no difference between composed or improvised pieces anymore. The ears are tuned better, the gesture is more generous and the music more powerful and exuberant. And last but not least; Wilbert de Joode doesn’t play bass anymore but became a bass, Martin van Duynhoven, with all his knowledge and experience shows more subtlety and beauty with every concert and I, hopefully turning 50 this year, love adventurous music and original musicians more than ever.’
