A double bill, opening with a solo performance by Ab Baars. According to national daily newspapers the reed player embodies the best that Dutch improvised music has to offer. Misha Mengelberg describes his music not as jazz, but as ‘Ab-music’. Bite the Gnatze has a similarly wide stylistic range as Baars, combining jazz and blues with international folk styles. Tonight the band will launch its CD Wals door het raam.
