A NIGHT IN TEL AVIV
The bustling streets of Tel Aviv resonate in the music of the new
generation of Israeli jazz artists, who are making a big impression in
New York. For A Night in Tel Aviv three important band leaders have
written new compositions based on film material of their favorite spot
in this Mediterranean metropolis. Saxophonist Eli Degibri has
collaborated with such artists as Herbie Hancock and Brad Mehldau.
Pianist Omer Klein has released CDs on John Zorn’s Tzadik label. Double
bassist Omer Avital has been described by Downbeat as ‘one of the most
exciting musicians to come onto the jazz scene in the last 20 years’.
The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020 7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
