Special anniversary edition of the workshop at the Bimhuis led by Arnold Dooyeweerd. A surprising mix of upcoming talent and experienced musicians.

Maximal adventure in music, is it possible? Yes, as is proven at the Tuesday night improv workshop at the Bimhuis, which has been around for 40 years. Since the beginning it has been led by double bassist Arnold Dooyeweerd. For this anniversary edition he welcomes experienced players as well as upcoming talents.

Each workshop is a unique, compelling experience: the music can only be heard once, because the players themselves do not even know what is about to happen. There will be no sheet music or arrangements beforehand. The concert consists of two sets of around 45 minutes played by small groups mostly. In this way variation is guaranteed.

Amateurs as well as professionals can participate. Because the workshop takes place in an internationally renowned venue before an audience, there will be only one guideline: try not to reveal any flaws in your playing. One thing will be clear: the will to create something collectively is one of the most important secrets of improvised music.
