Special anniversary concert of the band led by Amsterdam-based Argentinean jazz musicians Celano & Baggiani, with a guest spot by reeds player Michael Moore. ‘Intensely melodic and refreshing frameworks for improvisation’ (The Wire).
Guitarist Guillermo Celano and drummer Marcos Baggiani are irreplaceable parts of the Amsterdam jazz and improvised music scene. However, their Argentinean roots are still a part of their sound; melancholy and traces of nuevo tango can always be found in their compositions. 10 years ago they started their Celano/Baggiani Group, collaborating with illustrious international jazz musicians.
Celano won the North Sea Jazz composition assignment in 2013, for which the group introduced new members Joachim Badenhorst (Han Bennink Trio) on bass clarinet and Clemens van der Feen on double bass. For this special anniversary concert they welcome special guest Michael Moore on alto sax and clarinet, renowned for his own bands and as a member of the ICP Orchestra.
