Brand new music, ambitious productions and cross-pollination between different disciplines. In REFLEX, BIMHUIS Productions invites four musicians every year to develop and perform new work, in response to social themes that concern them. Abstract or concrete, intimate or epic.

Jazz has a history of activism; in bending, letting go or rejecting conventions. It still enters into a serious conversation with the status quo. In its freest form, improvisation, jazz is a constant search for new forms of conversation. This search and the resulting conversations are central to REFLEX.
