VICTOR DÉMÉ

Het duurde dertig jaar voordat zanger, gitarist en kleermaker Victor Démé uit Burkina Faso zijn cd-debuut maakte. Het enorme succes van het album leidde tot uitnodigingen van wereldmuziekfestivals in heel Europa. Na twee hectische jaren verschijnt binnenkort Deli, zijn tweede cd met onopgesmukte Afrikaanse folkblues. ‘Démé… has the relaxed confidence of a man in his mid-40s who has spent his life singing and playing guitar in the Ouagadougou clubs and bars… he has a fine soulful voice and an original songwriting style’ (The Guardian).
