Osmosis komt voort uit een Carte Blanche voor violist Oene van Geel op het Marathon Festival in Groningen in 2002. Het sextet (met niet minder dan vijf nationaliteiten!) dat hij sindsdien met basgitarist Mark Haanstra leidt, speelde sindsdien over de hele wereld. ‘The combination of styles from two different continents merged successfully in a way which was as exciting for those brought up with Indian music as for those more comfortable with the Western jazz tradition’ (Deccan Herald, India).
