Elastic Jargon, onder leiding van altviolist Maurice Horsthuis, is een bijzonder lenig snarenorkest met een unieke muzikale taal, ontwikkeld tijdens vaste maandelijkse sessies in De Badcuyp. Het ensemble van acht strijkers plus gitarist beweegt zich moeiteloos tussen compositie en improvisatie en speelt met de regels van verschillende genres, de uiterste mogelijkheden van klassiek en jazz verkennend. ‘Behind all the playfulness lies Horsthuis subtle intelligence and genuine affection for strong melody, rich orchestration, and lively performance.
