Zanger Kurt Elling is een fenomeen. New York Times noemt hem ‘the standout male vocalist of our time’ en dit jaar werd hij opnieuw uitgeroepen tot beste vocalist door de Jazz Journalists Association. Elling zingt standards, reciteert poëzie en haalt vocale stunts uit op bopsolo’s en jazzmelodieën. Daarnaast bevat zijn repertoire soul en rock van o.a. Stevie Wonder en Joe Jackson. ‘One of the few post-Baby Boom hardcore jazz artists who can live up to the term “original”’ (Downbeat).
Kurt Elling geeft twee concerten in het Bimhuis op vrijdag 16 en zaterdag 17 november 2012.
Na afloop van het concert is het Bimhuis Café geopend (gratis toegang).
