In haar nieuwe band speelt tenor- en sopraansaxofoniste Ingrid Laubrock met haar favoriete musici uit New York, uitblinkers in het internationale improvisatiecircuit. Laubrocks reputatie groeide gestaag na haar verhuizing van Duitsland naar Londen en, 15 jaar later, New York. Ze heeft ze het vermogen om tegelijk kalm en dominant te klinken en zoekt bewust naar spanning tussen doordachte composities en heftige improvisaties. ‘Laubrock has a compelling dynamic and emotional range.
