Billy Hart, ‘one of the most thoughtful and accomplished drummers still working’ (BBC), dankt zijn reputatie aan samenwerking met legendarische artiesten als Otis Redding, Herbie Hancock en Miles Davis. Zijn eigen composities speelt hij met de jazzhelden van dit moment, saxofonist Mark Turner (Fly), pianist Ethan Iverson (The Bad Plus) en contrabassist Ben Street. Het kwartet treedt sinds 2003 elk jaar op in New York voor volle zalen. Hun nieuwe cd verscheen op het label ECM. ‘A blend of bebop and free aesthetics… a splendid recording’ (Jazz Times).
