Rembrandt Frerichs Trio + Sylvain Rifflet & Joce Mienniel
Flute player Joce Mienniel and saxophonist Sylvain Rifflet, both of them European jazz greats, collaborate with the piano trio of Rembrandt Frerichs, for the concert series Made in Europe.
Pianist Rembrandt Frerichs and his trio expand their vision far beyond the national borders in their concert series Made in Europe. Previously they celebrated successful editions with Italian trumpeter Paolo Fresu; now they will perform together with two European musicians who also honor melody, beauty and risky improvisation: flute player Joce Mienniel and saxophonist Sylvain Rifflet.
Saxophonist Sylvain Rifflet has reached the top of French jazz and has collaborated with international greats such as Kenny Wheeler and Riccardo Del Fra. Dutch jazz musicians Rembrandt Frerichs, Tony Overwater and Vinsent Planjer have been performing together for more than a decade and as a result they are perfectly attuned to each other.
‘Rembrandt’s music is a wonder of organic creativity, an exemplary fusion of the old and the new world’ (HP/De Tijd).
