Yuri Honing’s Peace Orchestra

Hopeful sound by Dutch saxophone pride and his brand new all-star band.

Yuri Honing’s Peace Orchestra originated as a response to tumultuous times. After the worldwide pandemic, the saxophonist found that the time was right for a new sound that unites and inspires people. With his brand new all-star line-up, he lets musical boundaries dissolve in a hopeful sound.

Inspired by compositions such as Pharoah Sanders’s masterpiece ‘The Creator had a Masterplan’ and the music of Charles Lloyd and Sun Ra, Honing and his Peace Orchestra present a new take on the freer forms of jazz from the 1960s and 70s, combined with modern electronics.

The Peace Orchestra consists of the drummer Yoràn Vroom, harpist Remy van Kesteren, guitar talent Ella Zirina and bassist and former Boy Edgar Award winner Tony Overwater.
