Yorán Vroom started making music at a young age. He attributes a major part of his development to his studies with Surinamese-Dutch master drummer Eddy Veldman, and with percussionist Ponda O’Bryan. At the BIMHUIS, Yorán Vroom presents a surprising repertory and a new ensemble.
Yorán Vroom graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where he teaches drumming at the jazz department. He collaborated with internationally renowned musicians such as Frank McComb, Ed Motta, Cory Henry and Kinga Głyk.
‘Yorán Vroom is quickly developing into one of the leading musicians of this time’ (Vrije Geluiden, VPRO).
‘Without a doubt one of the major drum talents active in The Netherlands’ (De Slagwerkkrant).
