Fireworks by four absolute maestros and innovators of latin jazz. ‘A crisp atmosphere of folkloric futurism… a form of new-world fusion’ (New York Times).

The all-star band Volcán features four visionaries of latin jazz, with a shared discography of over 150 albums. Grammy Award-winning pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba writes most compositions for the band and brings in adventurous synthesizer explorations. Master drummer Horacio ‘El Negro’ Hernandez and percussionist Giovanni Hidalgo form a perfect rhythmic couple and bassist Armando Goal lays down an alternately acoustic and electric foundation. Traditional influences from Cuba and Puerto Rico come together with influences of Latin jazz pioneers such as Dizzy Gillespie and Chico Baroque.
