Keyboard player Uri Caine is a typical product of the New York downtown scene. Like kindred spirit John Zorn he knows how to incorporate every kind of music, from klezmer to Mahler and from B-movie soundtracks to Bach. In his new band he plays electric funk with power drummer Cornell Rochester, guitarist Nguyên Lê and bassist Reggie Washington. ‘Caine made his mark as a conceptualist, capable of juxtaposing a multitude of genres and stylistic idioms while crafting a singular artistic statement’ (Downbeat).
