Sweet Toko
Saturday19 April 2025

With their mix of Caribbean grooves and dazzling jazz, Sweet Toko fits in anywhere, from tropical beaches to the city skyline. The band is led by singer and bassist Adinda Meertins. The international ensemble is complemented with extra percussion.

Adinda Meertins won a Latin Grammy with the Colombian formation Monsieur Periné, with which she toured the world. In her homeland The Netherlands she founded Sweet Toko, with musicians from among others Metropole Orchestra and Re:Freshed Orchestra. Sweet & Sour, the debut album of Sweet Toko, was produced by Jason Lindner, the keyboardist from New York who has played with David Bowie.

After the concert the music will continue with Salsa Panorama, a Cuban salsa party at our café with an incredible view, where everybody is invited to dance. With or without experience, everybody is welcome. Salsa Panorama, organized by Salsa District, has become a tradition at the BIMHUIS: this is the ninth edition already.
