Experienced trio led by master pianist, Italian celebrity and born entertainer Stefano Bollani. Mix of jazz, classical and beyond, performed with Southern European flair.

Stefano Bollani, a celebrity in his homeland Italy, is a brilliant jazz pianist, a novelist and a comic entertainer in the vein of Roberto Benigni. He caught the public’s eye in the ensembles of trumpeter Enrico Rava. In his piano narratives he links Scott Joplin to Poulenc and Charles Mingus to Michael Jackson. In his comical interludes he imitates skipping record players and emotive Italian pop singers. On top of that he leaves enough room for sincere beauty, especially in his original compositions.

Italian master pianist Stefano Bollani met bassist Jasper Bodilsen and drummer Morten Lund while playing with Enrico Rava. With these Danish contemporaries he forms his current trio. Last year they made the album In Spite of Everything (ECM) with guitarist Bill Frisell and saxophonist Mark Turner (Fly): ‘Everything brims with lively intention, enhanced throughout by pianist Bollani’s light touch and discrete execution’ (Downbeat).
