SEMINAR – CLASSICAL IMPROVISATION
SEMINAR – CLASSICAL IMPROVISATION
- Starts
- 20:15
Improvisation
was once an important part of musical expertise, but with the passing of time,
this skill became irrelevant. Nowadays, improvisation has once again risen to
importance, partly thanks to the popularity of historical performance
technique. Many music schools are making an effort to re-introduce the subject
to the curriculum.
The reason improvisation is so essential, and how it
now forms a crucial part of current music education, are the central topics of
this seminar. Jazz cadence and improvisation will also be covered.
Bimhuis cafe is open during and after the seminar (17:00). The
restaurant is open from 17:00 to 20:15 (reservation recommended:
020-7882158)
