The Rotterdam Jazz Orchestra, founded by trumpet player Rob van de Wouw and trombone player Louk Boudesteijn, creates raw, unadulterated big band music. The band plays new compositions, as well as timeless works. During the first set, band leader Johan Plomp presents his new suite, in which each band member has his own tailor-made miniature composition. Speak No Evil, the ground-breaking album by Wayne Shorter, will be performed after the break in new arrangements. Saxophone player and Shorter admirer Yuri Honing is invited to play the lead parts.
