The Flemish saxophonist Robin Verheyen can switch effortlessly between jazz, rock and Bach, but concentrates on acoustic improvisation with his current trio. In this line-up he joinds forces with two jazz heroes from New York, double bassist Drew Gress and former Miles Davis drummer Billy Hart.
Verheyen was active regularly in New York, where he collaborated with improv jazz greats such as Marc Copland, Gary Peacock and Joey Baron. Drew Gress previously performed on our stage with, among others, Sylvie Courvoisier, Dave Douglas and Steve Lehman. The tireless Hart was performing live with Otis Redding, Sam & Dave and other such soul greats more than half a century ago, and has made albums with the likes of Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock and Pharoah Sanders.
