Ragini Trio ft. Sawani Mudgal & Bojan Z

Indian vocalist Sawani Mudgal and Parisian star pianist Bojan Z explore jazz and raga with the Belgian Ragini Trio, featuring members of, among others, STUFF.

Saxophonist Nathan Daems has a fondness for Eastern music in the broadest sense. He previously dug into Ethiopian music with Black Flower. With Ragini Trio he explores Indian music out of his jazz background. This spring sees the release of the second Ragini album, a collaboration with Sawani Mudgal, singer in the Hundustani classical tradition, and pianist Bojan Z, a true star in the French jazz constellation. From his native Yugoslavia he took the Balkan tradition and connected with known performers such as Henri Texier, Louis Sclavis and Aldo Romano.

Founded in Belgium, the Ragini Trio consists of the aforementioned Nathan Daems, Italian double bass player Marco Bardoscia, who plays with Paolo Fresu, and Flemish drummer Lander Gyselinck, who celebrates international success with his band STUFF.

Sawani Mudgal vocals, Nathan Daems baritonsax, Bojan Z – piano, Marco Bardoscia, bass, Lander Gyselinck drums
