This month the Ploctones will finish their victory lap around the Dutch jazz and rock circuit in honour of their guitarist Anton Goudsmit winning the Boy Edgar Prize. Meanwhile the band have also toured in Brazil and Goudsmit has won another award, for best Dutch pop guitarist. On top of that the Ploctones will present a new album. The band is known for its explosive and genre-defying mix of jazz, funk, rock, Latin, kaseko, punk and bluegrass. ‘Anton Goudsmit makes you wonder where the fire escape is’ (The Guardian).
