Peter Beets & the New Jazz Orchestra: The Blues goes to Spain

Big band full of top talent explores mix of jazz, blues and Spanish classical music.

Pianist Peter Beets and his New Jazz Orchestra present a special combination of Spanish classical music and jazz. With music by composers like De Falla, Albéniz, Turina and Mompou, complemented by swinging outbursts and adventurous improvisations. The result is a fusion of tradition and innovation that is both recognizable and surprising.

The New Jazz Orchestra consists of eighteen talented musicians from the new generation of the Dutch jazz scene led by star pianist Peter Beets. With his exuberant playing, Beets makes the orchestra shine and lifts the musicians to the highest level. After a successful French program, they are now sinking their teeth into Spanish classical music and blues.
