Perforator | Punkt.Vrt.Plastik

Living electronics, self-built instruments, and a contemporary piano trio: music from the future in this double concert. With pianist Kaja Draksler and others.

A musical racing car, talking cups, alien electronics from a ball that is thrown into the audience and an oboe that sounds like an upset electric guitar. The new absurdist performance Performania by the duo Perforator – oboist Marlies van Gangelen and inventor Akim Moiseenkov – is inexplicable, a unique visual and auditory spectacle. The oboe merges with the decor, movements become music and an army of self-built instruments of ingenious live electronics comes to life. The duo made their debut at the Holland Festival 2016.

Slovenian-born pianist and composer Kaja Draksler collaborates with two highly respected Berlin residents, bassist Petter Eldh and drummer Christian Lillinger, in a trio that started at the BIMHUIS October Meeting 2016. ‘Punkt’, a point of view and a musical statement in Swedish, ‘Vrt’ (garden in Slovenian), where the musical ideas are planted and cultivated, and ‘Plastik’ (German), as a sound vision, plasticity of musical shapes and structures.

‘Kaja Draksler, Petter Eldh, and Christian Lillinger prove that the piano trio lineup will always remain relevant. The pianist lays the foundation with her wonderfully dissonant lines’ (JazzNu).

Please note: this concert is rescheduled from 17 April 2020. Previously bought tickets stay valid.
