Osmosis stems from a carte blanche for violinist Oene van Geel on the Marathon Festival in Groningen in 2002. The sextet (with five different nationalities!) that he leads with bass guitarist since that occasion, performed all over the world. ‘The combination of styles from two different continents merged successfully in a way which was as exciting for those brought up with Indian music as for those more comfortable with the Western jazz tradition’ (Deccan Herald, India).
