Pianist Omer Klein is among the current batch of young Israeli musicians making waves in international jazz music. In New York he played with trumpeter Avishai Cohen and band leader Omer Avital, and he released an album on John Zorn’s Tzadik label. He currently lives in Germany, but he still collaborates with his main acoustic trio featuring bassist Haggai Cohen-Milo and drummer Amir Bresler. The three musicians are so tight-knit that they have arrived at an original style which is more than just a sum of its Eastern and Western parts. Just check the very personal compositions on the recent album Sleepwalkers (Warner Music).
‘Hardly anyone can unify groove and romanticism as organically as Omer Klein’ (Piano News).
