MILLENNIUM JAZZ ORCHESTRA & ANTON GOUDSMIT
Sunday18 January 2015

Guitarist Anton Goudsmit (The Ploctones, New Cool Collective) is the special guest with the Millennium Jazz Orchestra, a true jazz big band with a 25-year-old history.

In the past 25 years the Millennium Jazz Orchestra has developed into a professional big band with Dutch and German musicians. The impressive list of guest soloists includes international celebrities such as Toots Thielemans and Lee Konitz. The band recorded CDs with, among others, Fay Claassen and Philip Catherine. Home base is Theater Bouwkunde in Deventer, which is transformed into a jazz club every month. The band has also performed at North Sea Jazz and in the Concertgebouw.

At the Bimhuis the band presents their new CD No Safety Zone for which all material was composed and arranged by band leader Joan Reinders. After the break the special guest is guitarist Anton Goudsmit of The Ploctones and New Cool Collective fame. ‘He’s called the most amusing guitarist in The Netherlands, because of his ecstatic and fully dedicated way of performing’ (de Volkskrant).

The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
