The Hybrid 10tet of pianist/composer Michiel Braam consists of the classical Matangi Quartet, the rock-oriented Wurli Trio and three brass players from different parts of the world: Taylor Ho Bynum (USA), Carl Ludwig Hübsch (Germany) and Nils Wogram (Norway). Braam’s new music is based on the idiosyncracies of these characters, as well as the venues in which they will perform during this tour; Room with a View was composed especially for the Bimhuis, for example. The result is an exciting improvised journey full of unexpected turns.
